Building Capacity Through Mindful Connection and Care
Anxiety
The Kind Self Collective offers a compassionate approach to anxiety therapy, providing a safe space for individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, and physical manifestations of anxiety. Through a combination of mindfulness practice and evidence-based techniques, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parts Theory, and Somatic work, you will be supported in developing internal resources to manage anxiety symptoms and to reclaim a sense of calm and balance in all areas of your life.
Depression
At The Kind Self Collective, we understand the impact of depression on overall well-being. Our therapy sessions create a nurturing environment for individuals to explore the root causes of their depression and propagate newfound resilience. Through integrated holistic practices, which empower clients to cultivate hope, identify values, and make meaning, you will be supported to expand your capacity to hold space for your most challenging thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
Narcissistic and Psychopathic Abuse
Whether you are currently in a relationship with someone exhibiting narcissistic personality traits or you have been navigating the complicated world of a narcissistic personality-disordered (NPD) parent, sibling, partner, or other person in your life, we are here for you. Trauma associated with NPD and psychopathic abuse is unique and requires a deep understanding of the complex harms related to this experience. One must be aware that in an NPD relationship, the survivor may experience cognitive dissonance and, therefore, trauma may present as atypical and could be overlooked (The Association for NPD/Psychopathy Survivor Treatment, & Research, 2025). We will support you in identifying and understanding the psychopathology of NPD, to uncover the significant impacts that this experience may have. You will be empowered as you cultivate self-compassion, stabilization, and grounding strategies that will allow you to manage symtoms of trauma, while reducing feelings of shame, isolation, and grief.
Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
All women and gender-diverse people experience violence uniquely and require an intersectional approach to therapy that centres them within their own stories and lives. Black and Indigenous People of Colour (BIPOC), Women, 2S - LGBTQIA+ people, remain disproportionately impacted by higher rates of sexualized violence, intimate partner violence, family violence, and systemic violence than the broader population (Canadian Women's Foundation, 2025). At The Kind Self Collective, we treat GBV through a lens of social justice. We will explore trauma-informed mindfulness, practice approaches to build increased safety, support nervous system recovery, and rebuild a trusting connection to the self. We recognize that anyone can experience GBV, and these experiences are often exacerbated by societal factors such as stigma, colonial harms, inter-generational trauma, racism, classism, sexism, ablism, trans-hate, and misogyny. We will work with you to develop a flexible plan to support you where you are at and to foster a sense of compassion for your whole self and all of your most complex parts.
Trauma
We believe that trauma lives within the body and trauma recovery requires a holistic approach to healing that includes the mind and the body. The Kind Self Collective is certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Child & Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP), and we do not embark upon any trauma work lightly. We will work with you to first establish safety within the therapeutic space and to uncover existing internal and external resources that may support you in your healing journey. Using Polyvagal and Somatic approaches as a foundation, we will build in practices to support your nervous system, reclaim a sense of control within your body and environment, and empower you as you navigate all the peaks and valleys along the way.
Child and Adolescent Therapy
Childhood and adolescence are complicated and vulnerable times. It is exhausting being a kid. In 2025, with the constant weight of social media, young people are exposed to external pressures relentlessly. Whether your kiddo needs support to identify and understand thoughts, feelings, and emotions, to develop self-regulation strategies, to learn grounding skills, or to safely process transitions within their lives, we provide a supportive, non-judgmental space for self-expression and growth. Using emotionally focused therapy, cognitive behavioural approaches, dialectical behavioural skills, art, movement, and breath, our therapy is tailored for young people based on their unique hobbies, skills, and interests, which builds confidence, capacity, empathy, and understanding in all areas of their lives.
